Everything to know about the NEW Veo Cam 3

Exciting news is on the horizon as Veo, one of the leading innovators in sports tracking cameras, gears up for the launch of their latest creation: the Veo Cam 3.

For anyone unaware of Veo and their cameras, these cameras are capable of recording live matches by setting up an automatic tracking camera on a tripod that will follow the ball during sports matches, eliminating the need for a person with a camera. Live footage is sent through an app for coaches and analysts to view, as well as the footage is accessible to share after the match. The cameras work across numerous sports including football, basketball, rugby and lacrosse.

Currently have released two models of their camera with the third camera set to be launched on February 22nd 2024. We are going to dive into some of the potential new features to keep you up-to-date with the latest in the industry and hopefully inform you before you sign-up for the exclusive launch event.

What New Is Coming

So far Veo have not released any explicit news on the new camera. The new features and design are set to be unveiled at the exclusive release event on February 22nd. From the videos and posts released on their social media, we can begin to piece together what this new camera might feature.

The Design

The camera looks the same shape as their Veo Cam 2 and we would expect it to utilise the same clip functionality as the Cam 2. If the Veo Cam 3 uses this clip functionality into the tripod then the Veo tripods advertised for the Veo Cam 2, should easily integrate this newer model into any workflow.

We believe the camera will stay relatively similar but the hardware within it will surpass the Veo Cam 2 and its ability. There were some hints that the camera may be smaller than previous models to make it more travel friendly, however, we are not sure if this will be the case.

Player Tracking

This is where Veo has provided the most hints as to what the new camera might be capable of. We believe the biggest innovation could be a new player-tracking feature. This feature was hinted at in a recent X post with a screenshot of player positions on a pitch. With this new ability, the Veo Cam 3 will completely advance how the Veo Cam 3 will be used.

While we are still unsure if this will be a live-match analysis feature or even accessible for all sports to use with the camera. With player tracking the Veo Cam will be capable of providing more in-depth player and team analysis, giving coaches and players an entirely new perspective on their performance. With player tracking shot maps may become a new feature as well as average positions.

Player-tracking also has the potential to provide player distance travelled, speed and more GPS performance tracking statistics. However, this will greatly depend on the details of the tracking capabilities.

New Streamlined App

The streamlined app has been hinted at the most in their X posts, with an emphasis on being only a few clicks away from any clip of a match. We believe the app will be where most of the changes will be seen, with the Veo Cam 3 having brand-new hardware inside.

We believe coaches, analysts and players will be able to quickly get individual clips that will all be organised and quickly sharable through the Veo app. And potentially being able to create individual player reports from the footage.

Exclusive Access To Launch Event

While details remain under wraps, Veo are doing an exclusive launch event for the new Veo Cam 3 on February 22nd. Here Veo will unveil everything about the Veo Cam 3 and its capabilities. Don’t miss the exclusive release event where you can be among the first to see the groundbreaking features of the Veo Cam 3.

We are yet to know if users at the event will get discounts on the Veo Cam 3 – however, we recommend signing up in case any release special events get released.
